Privacy Policy

Information we collect

When you continue with Google, we receive the basic account details needed to sign you in, including your Google account identifier, email address, and any basic profile details Google provides, such as your display name or profile image. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or files.

We also process information you choose to submit, including uploaded images or PDFs, filenames, quiz topics, selected subjects, and the results created from that material. Basic technical and diagnostic information may be recorded to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• authenticate your account and maintain your session;
• store your account tier, such as Free, Plus, or Premium;
• process uploads, find relevant exam material, and create quizzes;
• prevent abuse and keep the service reliable and secure; and
• respond to support, privacy, and account requests.

Services that process information

We use Google for account sign-in and Supabase for authentication, account data, and application infrastructure. Uploaded content or quiz requests may be processed through OpenRouter and its applicable AI model providers. Upstash is used to search our exam-material index. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer.

Storage and retention

Your account record is retained while your account is active and includes the identifier needed to connect it to Supabase authentication and your account tier. Uploaded files are processed transiently. Completed search jobs and generated files are currently held in server-side storage and normally removed approximately 48 hours after processing finishes.

The site may keep the active uploaded image or PDF, its preview, and recent search context in your browser's site storage so the result can be restored and the search can be repeated after a refresh. The active upload remains usable for up to 48 hours and is removed sooner when you clear the result or replaced by a later upload. You can also remove this information by clearing site data in your browser. Third-party processors may retain information according to their policies and the settings used by igcse.ai.

Cookies and browser storage

We use authentication cookies to keep you signed in and browser site storage to preserve temporary uploads, interface state, and search state. These are used to provide the service, not for third-party advertising.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections and access controls. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by emailing us. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account.

Google user data

Our handling of information received through Google sign-in follows the applicable Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google account information is used for authentication and account administration and is not provided to AI model providers for advertising.

Children

igcse.ai is an educational tool, but it is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
